When Lydia Calderon went to work at the 407BBQ in Denton County, Texas, she had no idea what owner Bryan McLarty had planned.
Calderon makes tamales at the Texas barbecue restaurant, and to reward her for her hard work throughout the year, Calderon's boss arranged a little ceremony in the kitchen. But no sooner had she received a bunch of flowers and a heartfelt thank you than McLarty announced there was more to come. Seconds later, in through the door walked Calderon's daughter, Maylin, who'd made a surprise return from duty with the Marines.
